18Montpellier Estate Holiday Homes – Overview

Located in a safe, tranquil, green, and upmarket neighbourhood of Pearl Marina in Somerset West, 18Montpellier Estate offers 7000 square metres with beautiful mountain views of both the Helderberg and Hottentots Holland mountain range. With the Manor House, The Rose Cottage, The Lodge self catering apartment, and the Thatch self catering holiday cottage sharing a green and lush garden, it offers plenty of open space and privacy for outdoor living. Two of the accommodations have a sparkling private swimming pool. There is free, safe, off-street parking available.

18 Montpellier is a quiet oasis that presents the perfect place for holidaymakers, wine & food lovers, and for those who want to play a round of golf on one of the more than 15 golf courses in the area. For the active vacationers, the nearby Helderberg Nature Reserve and Jonkershoek Nature Reserve offer plenty of hiking routes and mountain bike routes. 

Somerset West is a celebrated destination sought out by visitors who seek the luxury of choice in a large variety of wine estates, golf courses and some of South Africa’s best restaurants. This charming town is famous for its tree-lined roads and some of South Africa’s oldest wine estates, Vergelegen and Lourensford.

You can see the incredible coastline of the False Bay region from our lovely patio, and get a glimpse of Strand Beach, which is only 15 minutes away.  If you want to explore our coast further, Gordon’s Bay, Betty’s Bay, Kleinmond, and Hermanus are all within an hour of the lodge. 

Alternatively, for the wine lovers, the historic town of Stellenbosch with its Cape Dutch houses is only 20 minutes’ drive away.  Here, you find lovely boutiques, excellent wine bars and restaurants, and some of South Africa’s best wine estates.

Lastly, Cape Town is only half an hour away. It’s full of things to do, from having a shopping spree at the V&A Waterfront to enjoying some hikes up Table Mountain.

18 Montpellier is centrally located in the Helderberg region, making it ideal for those to explore or take a quick road trip. That said, with all our fantastic amenities – we’d totally understand if you’d prefer to just relax – whether that’s in the pool, on the patio, or having a ‘braai’ – using our BBQ grill.

COTTAGE 18 MONTPELLIER

Built on a former wine estate, 18 Rue Montpellier is full of history, and this is no more apparent than in the thatched Cape Dutch-style cottage. The cottage itself is around 45 years old and was built in the 80s. 

With its classic/antique furniture, wooden beam-lined ceilings, and stunning wood flooring, you’ll feel enchanted by its rustic and homely vibes. Rustic doesn’t mean dusty – or outdated, as you’ll see in the newly renovated bathrooms, modern amenities, and fully kitted out kitchen. So whether you’d like to cook up a feast or visit a nearby restaurant, there’s lots on offer. 

The house is equipped for all seasons. Come in the winter and you’ll be able to cozy up with a book next to the gas fireplace or simply enjoy a Netflix series on the 40-inch smart TV (international channels are also available). 

In the summer, you can enjoy a quick dip in the cottage’s private pool, take in the incredible mountain vistas on the terrace with vine-adorned columns, and enjoy a BBQ/braai with some fantastic local wine. 

Regardless of your choice, we prioritize your enjoyment, convenience, and peace of mind. Our cottage features complimentary, high-speed WiFi, air conditioning, an alarm system, secure private parking, and an inverter for load shedding. Additionally, our staff can help with luggage upon arrival and accommodate late arrivals.

Bedrooms

All three bedrooms come with air conditioning, double beds with separate, extra-long 90 x 200 cm mattresses, and plenty of cupboard spaces for your clothes.

Bathrooms

The two newly renovated bathrooms come with showers, baths, sinks and toilets.

Kitchen

The kitchen comes stocked with Bosch appliances, including a dishwasher, a microwave, a washing machine, and a fridge, as well as a Nespresso coffee machine and a filter coffee machine. 

LODGE APARTMENT

The Lodge Apartment is fully self-catering and has its own entrance. On the ground floor we have the entrance and living area.

From the terrace at the front, you have a beautiful view over the Hottentots Holland Mountain range and the Helderberg mountain.

It has a separate fully equipped kitchen, living and open-plan dining area. It’s got one bedroom, a bathroom with shower and basin with cupboard and toilet.

Living area

On the inside, you’ll find a cozy living room with couch, chairs, flat-screen television with local and international TV channels. There’s also air-conditioning. 

Outside area

On the outside, there’s a large terrace with a small grass area, two chairs, a coffee table and an umbrella. There’s also safe, off-street parking in a private garage. 

Bedroom

The one bedroom has a double bed with two separate, extra-long mattresses (90 x 200 cm). There’s also air-conditioning. 

Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer combo, a microwave, a washing machine, an electric stove and oven, a toaster, a kettle, a nespresso coffee machine and plenty of crockery and cutlery. 

Airport

Situated a comfortable 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport.
