OUR TRAINING SERVICES

Fly With Us

Our operation from Wintervogel Airfield will save you money. We are DIRECTLY in the training area, and there is NO TRANSIT time to start your training. Other schools need to fly 10-20 minutes to get to the training area. Based on the Microlight training this saving can be R880 per flight.

Gyrocopter Training

Unlock the thrill of gyrocopter flight with our Gyrocopter License, offering the freedom of open cockpit flying.

The training for Gyrocopter License includes:

  • Theory & Exams (Minimum pass mark of 75%)
  • Aircraft Technical and General Knowledge
  • Gyroplane Operations
  • Air Law
  • Flight Exercises & Briefings
  • Navigation
  • Restricted Radio Telephony
  • Meteorology
  • Human Performance
  • Principles of Flight

A minimum of 30 hours of flying time is required, culminating in a flight test for Gyrocopter License.

Requirements for Gyrocopter License:

  • Minimum age of 16 years
  • Medical fitness (Class 4 aviation medical certificate)

Duration of Gyrocopter License training:

 

Our flexible training schedule allows full-time students to complete the program in 3-4 weeks or part-time students to learn at their own pace.

Aircraft used for Gyrocopter License training:

Train on our Magni M16 gyrocopter, known for its excellent control feedback, providing a positive learning experience.

Microlight Training

Experience the freedom of open cockpit flying with our Microlight License, enabling you to pilot microlight aircraft.

The training for Microlight License includes:

OUR AIRCRAFT

The Aquila Solowings Microlights

manufactured in Durban, South Africa, is an microlight aircraft that is used for recreational flying, flight training, aerial photography, flying off on a breakfast run with friends to share the dream, and even crop spraying.

It is a two-seat, open-cockpit aircraft, powered by a Rotax two stroke 503/582 or 912 four stroke engine and features a comfortable cruise speed of 50-60 miles per hour(80-100km/h).

The Aquila can take off from short fields and is designed for easy handling and manoeuvrability, it’s robust and a affordable and easy to fly microlight.
