Wound Management

We provide cost effective treatment of various wound types e.g. chronic wounds, non-healing wounds, ulcerative wounds, burn wounds, post operative wounds, minor trauma wounds, pressure injuries and fungating wounds. During the initial visit a comprehensive assessment are done to identify your specific individual needs.

Dressings & Treatments

To provide the best environment for wound healing we select the most appropriate combination of dressing types during the treatment sessions e.g. hydrocolloids, hydrogels, alginates, collagen, transparent dressing etc. We evaluate and review the progress with each session with photographs and measurements. We have a multidisciplinary approach and refer to the appropriate team member to enhance wound healing.

Medical Aid & Documentation

Our office can be contacted to obtain an online registration form that can be submitted easily. We deal with all major medical aids and submit medical claims directly. Payments by the medical aid are made according to the specific rules of the medical aid plans. We can apply for authorisation for wound management if you need wound management for a longer period. Authorisations are given according to the protocols and criteria of the medical aid funds.

Support

Appointments can be made for consultation and treatment at the clinic. Home visits are reserved for patients that cannot come to the clinic in the George Municipal area. We can schedule visits of patients at the frail care facilities in George. We understand that members of the family, as well as the medical care team, plays an important role in the healing of the wound. We try to involve them when it is indicated to help the patient during the healing process. We see each patient as a whole and try to meet all needs and refer them if necessary to appropriate resources.
