Chinese martial arts, often named under the umbrella terms kung fu and wushu, are the several hundred fighting styles that have developed over the centuries in China. These fighting styles are often classified according to common traits, identified as "families", "sects" or "schools" of martial arts. Wikipedia

Responsibility. That’s what most parents list as the No. 1 quality they want their kids to have. No matter their age, race or political leaning, parents want kids who can be relied on. The ability to work hard also makes most parents’ wish list. After that, opinions begin to diverge quite markedly, with more conservative folks listing religious faith and more liberal types opting for helping others as the attribute they most want to their children to develop.

In order of most to least popular, parents ranked the relative importance of each attribute this way: responsibility, hard work, helping others, good manners, independence, creativity, empathy for others, tolerance, persistence, curiosity, obedience and religious faith.

Here at Somerset West Kung Fu Academy we take the parents’ “whish list” seriously by actively developing each attribute through our martial arts program, creating responsible, hardworking, and good mannered children. While setting them on a healthier lifestyle for life!

We are training children of all ages in the ancient art of Kung Fu as a way of a healthier life and to make them stronger to take on life's little challenges !
